Ready to take your commercial gas career to the next level? Hungry for technical challenge on real, high-profile sites? Looking for a role where your expertise is trusted and your standards truly matter? If you’re nodding along, we want to hear from you.
We are currently looking for a Senior Commercial Gas Engineer to join our busy team in Greater London (Greater London, England) covering the South East and Home Counties — delivering safe, compliant commercial gas services on complex systems where others can’t quite get it right.
Hours of Work: full time
As a Senior Commercial Gas Engineer, you’ll split your time between hands-on field engineering and in-depth technical support — guiding engineers, carrying out audits and technical investigations, reviewing gas certification and service documentation, and ensuring every gas-related activity meets company procedures, current legislation, industry standards and Gas Safe Register requirements. You’ll act as the key link between operational engineering teams, contract management and the wider technical and compliance functions, helping to drive quality, consistency and continuous improvement across the business.
Senior Commercial Gas Engineer Duties
Servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, repairing and commissioning commercial gas appliances and associated systems — while providing technical oversight, quality assurance and compliance governance for the wider team. You’ll review documentation for accuracy and completeness, undertake technical audits and site visits where extra investigation or intervention is needed, support resolution of high-risk or recurring technical issues, and prepare clear, professional reports and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
Senior Commercial Gas Engineer Requirements
- Current Gas Safe registration through the employing business.
- Relevant, current commercial gas ACS qualifications appropriate to the company’s work activities.
- Strong experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on commercial gas appliances and systems.
- Detailed understanding of commercial gas safety, testing, commissioning and certification requirements.
- Ability to interpret manufacturers’ instructions and work accurately to technical standards, with strong written communication and report-writing skills.
Senior Commercial Gas Engineer Benefits
- £55,000 - £62,500 starting salary DOE + Overtime + Benefits (Birthday off, buy & sell holiday, diagnostic health cover after 12 months, access to EV salary sacrifice scheme)
- Permanent role with full-time hours
- Work across Greater London, the South East and Home Counties on varied, technically challenging sites
- Technical support and autonomy — trusted to make safety-critical decisions and drive corrective actions
- Invested growth culture: progression earned on merit, with support for continuous improvement
